Testimonials
Positively Organic was founded in 2005 by New York city residents Nancy and Peter Possenti, on the simple belief that when it comes to dressing kids, parents shouldn’t have to choose between style and sustainability. Combining luxuriously-soft organic cotton and sweatshop-free manufacturing with bold graphics, bright colors and hip, yet simple designs, Positively Organic's delightful collection of children’s apparel offers a unique mix of style and sustainability.
"When we outgrew our original studio/warehouse space, we looked throughout Manhattan and Westchester and decided on our current space at 500 Nepperhan Ave. because it offered us the most "bang for our buck" — a beautiful space at a reasonable price, a sense of security, and a convenient location (an easy 20 minute drive from our Upper Westside apartment.) The 2nd floor office space is beautifully decorated and kept immaculately clean — reflecting the warmth and generosity of the entire Rose family." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Louis Agrusa & Company are specialists in Furniture design, lacquer and faux finishing, antique furniture restoration and kitchen cabinetry detailing.
"We enjoy renting from RJ Rose Realty as they offer excellent facilities and are very attentive to all tenant needs. They are centrally located in Yonkers making access easy and convenient." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lofty Vintage, established in 2002, is a privately owned vintage clothing and accessory company nestled in a 2,000 square foot loft space housing an extensive collection including more than 25,000 items of vintage clothing and accessories from the 1890s up to the 1980s with something special from every decade; couture dresses and gowns, coats, sweaters, suits, skirts, pants, jackets, hats, shoes, scarves, gloves, handbags and jewelry. All items are hand-picked by the owner Andrea Hall Levy, and cleaned and restored to their original state. Sales, rentals, and consulting are available by appointment to designers, stylists, collectors, and anyone with a passion for fashion and design.
"After leasing storage space for several years on the 2nd floor of the historic 530 Nepperhan Avenue, I decided to move to the 5th floor. I transformed the raw warehouse space into an elegant loft space. My customers enjoy coming to the century old landmark warehouse in Yonkers, only 15 minutes from Manhattan." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arthur Levy maintains one of the largest personal non-retail deep research archives of music-related books and recordings in the New York area. An astounding collection of tens of thousands of albums, 45 rpm singles, tapes, CDs etc. dating (primarily) from the 1950s to the ' 00s -- covers every genre: pop, rock, jazz, soul, country, shows, movies, classical, comedy and more. In addition, he maintains an extraordinary deep library of books and periodicals, thousands of titles, again primarily music-related, but extending across the entire spectrum of the printed word, spanning a century. The well-lighted and well-stocked 400 square foot archive, custom shelved floor to (nearly) ceiling, really must be seen to be believed.
"I have always been impressed by the solid architecture of the 530 Nepperhan building, which used to house a carpet manufacturing factory at the turn of the century. So the floors are thick and solid and strong for the ages, and the brick and cinder-block walls act as natural insulators in the winter and summer. For my tastes, there is no comparison of being in this venerable old landmark building, which is thoroughly well-appointed inside, as opposed to some cold, contemporary generic space. The shelving for my music collection is an enormous feat that was custom built by one of the carpenters who works in the building, so I did not have to go to an outside contractor. Likewise the electricity amenities (overhead lighting, wall sockets etc). My wife's clothing and accessories business, Lofty Vintage, has been in different spaces in the building for about a decade, and i am especially gratified to now occupy the space directly next to her, down the hall from the TJ Allan Studios, across from artists Joe Kupillas and Arthur Dworin and all the other friendly tenants on my floor."
